In our generation, we never had to live under Law. Should we just keep away and never learn the teachings of the Law? No. think of our modern societal laws we live by today. It's important to know them. Why? Because these laws were made with the intent to show what we're capable of and what not to do, Just as the Law in the Bible. Anytime I see a law or a rule that is goofy, I think to myself well, someone must have done that goofy thing for it to be made a law. Though we don't necessarily deal with Biblical Law as much in the states, I do find that people are living under denominational law, tradition law and "being a good person" Law. Let's take traffic law for instance. I try my best to abide by all laws. But there are time when I'm talking to amber or "jamming" to music that I may go over the speed limit a bit. Or maybe I dont stop the proper length of time at a stop sign. There may be times where I accidentally break the law. And what happens if I cant pay that fine? Probably Jail. See, it's the same with the Law and Jesus. If your living by any of the Laws mentioned above, and not under the Guidelines of the Cross, when you mess up, when you sin, How can you pay the price for freedom? You cant. If we live under our own laws and not the Grace of Jesus Christ, then there's no way we make Heaven our home. Why? Just as breaking the law, When you break the Law of Sin you cant pay the price of remission, that can only be done by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
